The process

Enough structure to stay clear. Enough flexibility to fit the business.

The project moves through three focused stages, with clear scope, visible decisions and agreed payment points throughout.

01

Understand the business

I start with what customers need to know, what already works, which tools the business uses and what would make the project worthwhile.

02

Shape the direction

I turn what I learn into a clear content structure, hierarchy, visual direction and customer journey before production begins.

03

Build, refine and launch

Once the scope and deposit are agreed, the website is built responsively, reviewed in two focused rounds, tested and prepared for launch.

Before commitment

A private concept makes the direction easier to assess.

For selected independent businesses, I create a tailored private concept so you can see the direction before committing.

The initial direction should show enough thinking to discuss visual fit, hierarchy and customer journey. Production work begins after the scope, deposit, responsibilities and planned launch route are agreed.

Focused scope

The standard package covers up to five core business and customer-facing pages, agreed before the deposit is paid, plus the standard supporting pages reasonably required for the implemented website. Additions are priced before they become extra work.

Useful content

Existing business facts are organised, missing information is identified and photography is planned as an integral part of the pages.

Checked launch

The site is reviewed across common screen sizes, checked for accessibility and technical basics, and released through the protected production workflow.

Typical project stages

  1. Initial enquiry and suitability review.
  2. Discovery conversation and factual content collection.
  3. Written scope, exclusions, responsibilities and payment schedule.
  4. Private direction or concept where selected and appropriate.
  5. Deposit and production build.
  6. Two focused review rounds.
  7. Content, accessibility, responsive and technical checks.
  8. Final payment, launch, care-plan setup and documented handover arrangements.

A practical next step

Tell me what your business needs from a website.

Share what the business does, what is currently in place and what you would like customers to understand or do more easily. I’ll reply with a considered next step.
